How to fix what AI gets wrong about your business
Updated 2026-10-27
To fix what AI gets wrong, first list the specific facts that models miss or misstate, then trace each to the sources they rely on, usually your own site, directories and profiles. Publish the correct fact clearly in all of those places, add structured data, and re-test after a few weeks. Models cannot be edited directly, so you correct the sources.
Step 1: list the gaps
Compare what each model says with your real facts. Mark each as correct, missing or wrong. An AI Visibility Report does this signal by signal; you can also do it by hand with a spreadsheet.
Step 2: find the source of each error
- Search for the wrong fact. Old pages, directories and press often repeat it.
- Check whether the correct fact exists on your site at all, and where.
- Check that AI crawlers can reach the page that states it.
Step 3: publish the fix
- Give each service, product or location its own page with a clear heading and a direct first sentence.
- Add structured data (Organization, LocalBusiness, Service, FAQPage) matching the visible text.
- Update or correct third-party listings and profiles.
- Keep your llms.txt consistent with the pages.
Step 4: re-test
Wait a few weeks, then ask the models again. Retrieval-based answers can change quickly; training-based knowledge changes only when models are updated. Keep the before and after so you can see progress.
